CLONE PAINTING in PHOTOSHOP
MAGNOLIA GARDENS in BLOOM
The original image captured in the spring of this year, 2019, while visiting a friend in Summerville South Carolina.
The final image painted with the mixer brush in Photoshop using the cloning technique.  This image I used and underpaint layer, a separate intermediate layer for the water, one for the bridge and one for the background trees because each had a different style of brush, and then I finished with a detail layer.

Because this image was so busy with flowers and foliage, I took an original copy of the image, blurred it 2 pixels, added the oil paint filter at a very low setting and the put it over the top in the soft light mode at a very low opacity.  This brought back details like those tiny vines on the bridge post and some details in the foliage the mixer painting destroys.  The blurring and oil painting keeps the pixels in a painterly style so they blend nicely with the overall painted image.

A final curves adjustment was added for a little more contrast and the canvas texture was added in the soft light blend mode.
